We’re excited to unveil the 2025 Copthorne Wairarapa Bush Heartland squad, a well-balanced group combining the grit and experience of seasoned campaigners with the enthusiasm and potential of some exciting new talent.
Among the returning players are several familiar names who’ve been key to our identity and performance in recent years, bringing leadership and stability to the group. Alongside them, a number of fresh faces have earned their spots through strong club form and a real hunger to make their mark at the representative level.
With energy, depth, and a clear sense of regional pride driving them, this squad is shaping up to represent the Wairarapa with real purpose and passion in the season ahead.
Leading the charge is newly appointed Head Coach Jamie Williams, supported by Assistant Coaches Paddy Gough and James Goodger, a coaching trio bringing knowledge, passion, and a strong connection to our rugby community.
We’re also thrilled to welcome back Shay O’Gorman as Team Manager, joined by Hayden Smith as Team Manager, ensuring the off-field operations run just as smoothly as the on-field efforts.
And of course, no Wai Bush campaign would be complete without the ever-reliable Blue Hansen continuing in his legendary support role. The team will also be well looked after by Jess Davies and Nelson Hill, rounding out a dedicated and experienced management unit.
The countdown is now on to our first hit-out of the season, a tough opener against South Canterbury on Saturday 16 August.
Be sure to mark it in your diaries and get behind the team as we kick off our 2025 Heartland Championship campaign.
Congratulations to all
