Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union (CMRFU), alongside New Zealand Rugby (NZR), is proud to announce that Cam Roigard has re-signed with NZR through to 2029.
Roigard’s re-commitment reflects his continued growth and impact at both provincial and national levels, and reinforces his strong connection to the Counties Manukau region.
Roigard made his debut for the Counties Manukau Steelers during the 2020 season, featuring for the first time on September 27, 2020, against Northland. After progressing through the Steelers Academy from St Peter’s School, Cambridge, and developing his game at Onewhero Rugby Club, he earned a full provincial contract for the 2020 season.
Since then, Roigard has established himself as a key playmaker for the Steelers, becoming a consistent and influential presence within the squad. His skill, leadership, and work ethic have seen him grow into one of the region’s standout performers and a proud product of the Counties Manukau pathway.
CMRFU CEO, Chad Shephard, said the re-signing is a testament to Cam’s dedication and the strength of the region’s development programmes.
“Cam’s journey reflects what is possible through our community clubs, schools, and high-performance pathways. From Onewhero and the Steelers Academy to the Steelers and beyond, he represents the values and ambition of Counties Manukau rugby. We are incredibly proud to see him continue his journey with NZR through to 2029.”
Cam Roigard’s re-signing provides long-term stability for both his professional career with the All Blacks, Hurricanes & Counties Manukau Rugby, while continuing to inspire the next generation of players within the Counties Manukau region.
