Manurewa got their Auckland Women’s Premier grade top four playoff round off to a perfect start as they beat College Rifles 33-15 at College Rifles Park on Saturday.

After a couple of recent losses, Manurewa got their campaign back on track in spectacular fashion.

“Very pleased with the result against a strong Rifles team,” said coach Bruce Kaino.

“We started off slow in the first half but showed good composure and patience to grind it out and capitalise on the opportunities we created.

“We knew College Rifles were wanting to play quick so we went to work up front and utilised our set piece to our advantage.

“New week now and its going to be a big challenge up against an undefeated Ponsonby side but the ladies will be up for this one.”

Patumahoe got a win by default in the bottom four playoffs.

Pukekohe claimed a 22-17 win over Waitemata in their Women’s Premier Development competition game at Waitemata Park.

Weymouth beat Otahuhu 41-10 while Papakura were beaten 81-0 by Eden.
