Please find a statement below from the Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies on the appointment of former player and captain Brett Robinson as Chair of World Rugby:

"The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies would like to congratulate inaugural club captain Brett Robinson on his appointment as the new Chair of World Rugby.

"It is incredibly pleasing to see Brett become the first elected chair from the Southern Hemisphere in a groundbreaking moment for the sport.

"Brett led the side 44 times during the club’s inception at the very start of Super Rugby in 1996. He encapsulated the values that the club strives for to this day – hard work, friendship, family, and fun.

"His appointment is a testament to his character, integrity, dedication and the support that he has from his wife Amelia and family.

"Brett has already made a significant contribution to rugby both on the field and off the field and we know he will lead World Rugby with the same values and energy to which he applied to the ACT Brumbies, his family and professional life.

"We wish him the best of luck in the role.

  Forever Brumby #20."
