The ACT Brumbies can confirm lock Cadeyrn Neville will depart the club at the conclusion of the 2026 season, drawing the curtain on a seven-year tenure in Canberra that has yielded 73 appearances in Brumbies colours.
A tireless competitor and consummate professional, Neville has been a cornerstone of the Brumbies forward pack since arriving ahead of the 2020 season, while also serving as a respected leader within the club environment.
“My time at the Brumbies has been the most significant chapter of my career and a special time for me and my family living in Canberra.” Neville said.
“I’d like to thank the coaches, staff, players and supporters who have all made this such a rewarding chapter. We leave with great memories and a deep appreciation for the club and this city.”
Neville’s rugby journey is one of the more unique in Australian rugby. Raised in Dee Why, New South Wales, his elite sporting career began not on the rugby field but in a rowing boat, representing Australia at the Youth Olympics and a part of the Australian Institute of Sport program.
Having only taken up rugby in 2009, Neville quickly rose through the ranks, joining the Brumbies academy in 2010-11 before making his Super Rugby debut with the Melbourne Rebels the following year.
Stints with the Queensland Reds and Toyota Industries Shuttles in Japan followed before he arrived in Canberra, where he became a key figure in one of the competition’s most consistent packs.
His strong form at the Brumbies was rewarded with Wallabies selection in 2022, making his Test debut against England and going on to earn eight international caps.
ACT Brumbies Head Coach Stephen Larkham paid tribute to Neville’s contribution to the club.
“Cadeyrn has been a valued member of our squad and someone who has consistently led by example,” Larkham said.
“His grit and professionalism on the field, combined with his leadership and calm presence off it, have made him an important figure within our group.
“We're grateful for everything he has given the Brumbies over the past six seasons and wish him and his family all the very best for the next chapter.”
The ACT Brumbies thank Cadeyrn and his family for their outstanding contribution to the club and wish them every success for the future.
