The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies are proud to partner with Wagga Wagga City Council for the Super 7s rugby tournament on Saturday 2nd – Sunday 3rd November 2024 at Paramore Park, Wagga.

The Super 7s connects our widespread community through an active, inclusive, and competitive environment. On the back of the Brumbies 2023 Wagga and Griffith Roadshows earlier this year, The Super 7s will again boost rugby within the region driving participation and further supporting our local junior rugby clubs.

The event, in its fourth consecutive year, hosts 500+ aspiring young athletes in a bid for their teams to be crowned ‘Super 7s Champions’. Rugby Australia Program Manager Zac Elliot and former professional athlete Mark Gasnier will also be hosting the ‘Tri-Tag engagement.

ACT Brumbies Development Officer Reinhold Kamilo said: “After the success of the previous Super 7s, we are excited to support the continued growth of this event.

“We are extending the competition to include a Tritag non-contact format that ensures participation for all ages in an accessible way. Each team will engage in a Tritag match to maximise participation for rugby players and exposure for our new non-contact competition.

“A special thank you to Wagga Wagga City Council in securing the Super 7s competition in Wagga Wagga for the fourth consecutive year and to all those who will assist in facilitating the day.

“Registrations for teams remain open so we look forward to hearing from more eager participants.”

Council’s Recreation Coordinator Joshua Walsh said this is the first year of a renewed three-year agreement for the event.

“We’re particularly excited as it now includes three new age groups for boys and girls: U13s, U15s and U17s,” Mr Walsh said.

“This is lining up to be the biggest instalment of the Super 7s to date in our city.

“Considering the size of the event, it’s important participating teams lock in their accommodation and travel arrangements as soon as possible.

“This event will have major flow-on effects for our local economy and local businesses who will benefit with the influx of visitors to our city and show off what we have to offer.”
