Manurewa squares off with top ranked Ponsonby in a top-of-the-table clash at Western Springs in the Women’s Premier competition on Saturday.
In a mouth-watering clash between the two giants of women’s rugby in recent years, top spot and the last remaining unbeaten record will be up for grabs.
“Ponsonby are the defending champions and are a class team, which is evident in their results so far this season so there is no doubt they will be well drilled,” Manurewa coach Arihiana Marino-Tauhinu told Counties Sports Hub.
“We are excited to measure ourselves against the best and play in a game that will be hard but full of learnings.”
Patumahoe will look to get back into the winner’s circle on Saturday when they travel over the bridge to play North Shore in the Women’s Premier competition.
Weymouth will look to get their Women’s Premier Development season back on track this weekend after a couple of losses of late.
They face a trip across town to play Pakuranga at Lloyd Elsmore Park and will be keen to recapture their early season form.
Papakura, fresh off their first win, hosts Pukekohe in an all-Counties Manukau battle at Massey Park.
