Manurewa know they are fast running out of runway to make the McNamara Cup semi-finals but a win over Patumahoe this week could fire them straight back into contention.

Jeremy Clark’s side has struggled for consistency this season but have already pushed the leading sides in previous games and the two-time McNamara Cup winner knows it is just a case of unlocking that ability.

“Tomorrow’s match with top-of-the-table Patumahoe will be a tough one,” Clark told Counties Sports Hub. “We will need to be at our best at home.

“We will need a huge defensive effort plus a big attacking game, so big shift needed to compete with Patumahoe.

“Also looking forward to the challenge as a group to compete at the highest of levels.

“Being Old Boys/Sponsors Day, we want to put on a performance they will be happy with at home to previous old players that have worn the Rewa jersey.”
