Manurewa High School lifts the coveted 1st XV Shield from Pukekohe

Manurewa High School became just the third holder of the 1st XV Challenge Shield after they lifted the coveted trophy from Pukekohe High School with a 19-8 win on Saturday.

It was the first loss of the season for the home side, and they relinquish the Shield after holding it through the off-season and through the opening months of 2025.

Rosehill College claimed a 29-17 win over Waiuku College while Wesley College held off Papakura High School 24-19.

Tuakau/Onewhero picked up a 32-15 win over Manurewa High School in Year 11+ competition.

Wesley College beat Rosehill 53-0.

In Year 10 play, Papakura High claimed a 17-5 win over Waiuku College, Tuakau/Onewhero eased to a 38-10 victory over St Ignatius while the Wesley v Tipene St Stephens match was abandoned due to weather. Tipene St Stephens blanked Pukekohe High 56-0 in Year 9 action. In other matches, Wesley College triumphed 82-0 over Waiuku College while Rosehill College beat Tuakau/Onewhero 42-14.

James Cook High continued their strong form in the Girls XV competition as they defeated Pukekohe High 27-0.

Manurewa eased to a comfy 60-0 win over Papakura.
