The Western Force and RugbyWA are delighted to announce their partnership with SEDA College WA.

For the first time in nearly a decade, SEDA College WA will introduce a new sport to the school’s Sports Development Program, in collaboration with the Western Force and RugbyWA.

SEDA College WA is an independent Senior Secondary School, providing opportunities for Years 11 and 12 to gain practical industry connections by partnering with leading sporting organisations throughout the state.

By providing hands-on learning, the College sees students learn alongside industry experts, developing their practical skills which can be applied to their future careers.

The RugbyWA Sports Development Program will commence in 2026.

Western Force CEO Niamh O’Connor said: “Education is a major pillar of the Western Force into the future, so we’re delighted for Rugby to be collaborating with SEDA.

“The partnership offers opportunities for up-and-coming rugby players and fans not just on the field, but also off the field to further their careers in the sport and grow the game in WA in the golden decade.”

RugbyWA CEO Simon Taylor said: “RugbyWA is excited to see opportunities for young rugby players to get further involved in our sport and our community.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with SEDA College WA to deliver Rugby Union to their students, providing an additional pathway opportunity for growth and development.

“We are looking forward to working with their students, helping to provide practical links to professional rugby while driving passionate involvement and community immersion.”

SEDA College WA principal Rocky Collins said: “We’re thrilled to welcome RugbyWA and the Western Force to the SEDA College WA family during such an exciting time for Rugby.

“We have had requests from the community, families and prospective students for years to bring the sport onboard and we are so proud to have achieved this with our states leading rugby organisations.

“Our Sports Development Program is unique to SEDA College and has displayed great success with our students, walking side by side helping them reach their potential and take learning beyond the classroom and into the Rugby community.”

Enrolments for the RugbyWA Sports Development Program are now open for 2026.
