NSW Rugby Union is thrilled to announce Welcome Hospitality as a major supporter of NSW Rugby and the Coffs Coast Festival of Rugby, securing naming rights sponsorship of the Coffs Coast Rugby Challenge.
This exciting partnership will see Welcome Hospitality’s three iconic venues, Toormina Hotel, Sawtell Hotel and Moonee Beach Hotel proudly backing grassroots rugby and helping to grow the game across northern New South Wales.
A long-standing supporter of rugby union, Welcome Hospitality’s investment in the Coffs Coast Rugby Challenge will provide a major boost to junior and social rugby, ensuring that players of all ages have an opportunity to participate in a fun, inclusive, and community driven event.
The Coffs Coast Rugby Challenge, featuring junior rugby and a Golden Oldies tournament, is set to be a highlight of the Coffs Coast Festival of Rugby, which will attract thousands of players and spectators for a weekend celebrating the sport.
Beyond the festival, Welcome Hospitality’s commitment will have a direct and lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of local communities.
Their support will help fund the NSW Positive Rugby Foundation’s Rugby For Good programs, including Get Talkin’ mental health workshops, Rugby In The Park for homeless and socially disconnected individuals and Kickstart programs for youth in detention.
These initiatives play a vital role in using rugby as a tool for social connection, mental health awareness and positive community engagement.
NSW Rugby Union CEO Peter Murphy welcomed the partnership stating:
"We are incredibly excited to have Welcome Hospitality join us as a major partner and naming rights sponsor of the Coffs Coast Rugby Challenge. Their commitment to both rugby and the local community makes them the perfect partner for this event.
With their support, we can continue to provide a low cost of entry to teams wanting to access this incredible event. We can also continue to expand our Rugby For Good programs and make a real difference in people's lives across the Coffs Coast and beyond."
With Toormina Hotel, Sawtell Hotel, and Moonee Beach Hotel playing host to rugby fans throughout the festival, Welcome Hospitality will provide fantastic venues for teams, supporters and the wider community to come together and celebrate rugby.
Their reputation as premium hospitality destinations will help enhance the festival experience, reinforcing the region as a key destination for rugby events in Australia.
This partnership further highlights the importance of community-driven businesses investing in grassroots rugby, ensuring the sport continues to thrive at all levels.
