Competition heavyweights Launceston 1 and Taroona continued their winning ways while Hobart Lions stunned Burnie on the road in a rollercoaster Round 11 of TRU Men's action.

Fresh from a bye last week, the Tigers found their attacking spark in Devonport with winger Leone Vonoyauyau leading the 66-22 win.

Vonoyauyau's brace headlined Launceston's 10-try rout with halfback TJ Pieters adding eight conversions off the tee, though the Bulls did well to earn a losing bonus point with four tries of their own.

Taroona also earned maximum points from their derby clash with Hobart Harlequins, rolling out 44-14 victors at Rugby Park.

Centre Aron Lovell and winger George Chaperon-Tucker bagged doubles as the Penguins cemented their top-two status in the Premiership, leaving Quins down in fifth and with two games to keep their finals hopes alive.

Meanwhile in the Championship, Eastern Suburbs' playoff dream is on life support following a 50-10 loss to University in Sandy Bay.

Young fullback Oli Brancher shone for the students with a 25-point haul while prop Bill Moir crossed twice to help Uni end a five-week win drought.

However the Championship surprise packet came out of Burnie with Lions roaring to life at Emu Park.

The visitors bashed Burnie from pillar to post to emerge 65-10 winners after Taylor Scott-Webb and Ethan Best spearheaded an 11-try haul.

The result sets up a tantalising Championship weekend to come with Uni tackling Launceston 2 in Sandy Bay and Easts fighting for their season against the Lions at North Warrane Oval.
