Tū Kotahi Wahine 17 - 36 Albion - 24th May

This week Tū Kotahi Wahine played Albion at Midlands on a hot winters day. The team was hit hard by illness this week, so bench numbers were few. However, the ladies got to work in the first half, getting the first points on the board, in the form of an unconverted try.

The teams then took it in turns to score, taking it to 5 all, then 10-5 to M&Ms, then 10-12 to Albion, just before the half time whistle. The supporters from both teams were on the edges of their seats.

The second half saw both teams finding opportunities to score, with Albion adding more points to their side of the board, but M&Ms making some mistakes in crucial moments. The possession kicking game was great from both teams. Just before the final whistle the score was 36-10 to Albion, which was not a reflection of the level of competition. Tū Kotahi Wahine reclaimed a kickoff to Albion and scored a breakaway try, bringing the score to 17-36. This is a testament to the team, who kept fighting until the final whistle.
