Queensland School Sport Under 12 Rugby State Titles
Surfers Paradise Rugby Club played host to four action-packed days of schoolboy rugby as teams from across Queensland gathered on the Gold Coast for the Queensland School Sport Under 12 Rugby State Titles.
The tournament showcased an impressive standard of play, with the undefeated South Coast side meeting Met West in a dramatic Grand Final. Met West made a flying start, crossing for two early tries to take control of the match before South Coast worked their way back into the contest.
The second half delivered a thrilling finish, with the lead changing hands several times. With only seconds remaining, South Coast scored a converted try to level the scores and send the match to a dramatic conclusion.
When time expired, the grand final was declared a draw. However, under the competition rules, Met West was awarded the title after scoring first, bringing an exciting state carnival to a memorable close.
