The Bathurst Bulldogs Rugby Club hosted the NSW Rugby Union Youth Development Program's U15 and U17 regional tournament from January 17-19, 2026, showcasing emerging talent from across the state.

Six regional representative teams competed across four divisions - U15 Boys, U15 Girls, U17 Boys, and U17 Girls - with players selected from zones spanning the entire state.

The participating teams brought together talent from Northern NSW (Far North Coast, Mid North Coast, New England & Central North), Southern NSW (Central West, Western Plains & Illawarra), Central Coast & Hunter, Northern Sydney, Western Sydney, and South East Sydney.

NSW Country Rugby Union CEO Peter Murphy praised the quality of competition on display.

"Great to see such wonderful NSW talent on display in Bathurst, with both boys and girls from right across the state competing at an exceptional standard. These regional tournaments are vital for developing our next generation of players across both age groups and genders," Murphy said.

The tournament provides crucial representative experience for young players and serves as an important pathway for identifying and developing rugby talent across New South Wales.
