Auckland Rugby is excited to announce Musashi as the new naming rights partner of the Auckland Knock Out Series, as the competitions return for their highly anticipated second year.
Kicking off on Saturday 28 March, the Musashi Knock Out Series will see 28 Premier Men’s teams across four divisions compete in fast-paced knockout competitions. Running over three weeks, leading into the regular season. Designed to create more meaningful rugby and additional competitive opportunities, the series has quickly become an exciting addition to the Auckland club rugby calendar.
Auckland Rugby CEO Jarrod Bear says the return of the competition, combined with the new partnership, is a big win for the community game.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Musashi as the naming rights partner of the Auckland Rugby Knock Out Series. The series was introduced to create more opportunities for clubs and players to compete, and the response in year one showed just how much appetite there is for additional meaningful rugby.”
As part of the partnership, Musashi will also support the community game by providing performance products for players across the competition, helping athletes fuel their preparation and recovery throughout the tournament.
Adding to the excitement this year is the introduction of a new incentive programme, with a $35,000 prize pool up for grabs – giving every team something extra to play for. While Musashi’s support has helped bring this initiative to life, Auckland Rugby has also made a significant investment of its own, contributing $25,000 to ensure the competition delivers meaningful rewards for participating clubs and teams across the region.
The official Musashi Auckland Rugby Knock Out Series draws have also been confirmed, with first-round matchups set to ignite local rivalries across the region when the competitions begin on March 28.
A selection of matches will be streamed live on AucklandRugby.tv, thanks to Sportway, giving supporters the chance to follow the action from across the region.
Joe Blundell, Club Rugby Manager for Auckland Rugby, says the partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the community game.
“Musashi’s support helps us do exactly that – boosting the community game and celebrating the clubs that are at the heart of rugby in Auckland.”
The Musashi Auckland Rugby Knock Out Series begins Saturday, 28 March, with fixtures played across clubs throughout the region.
