Midlands 26 - 7 Woodlands

After claiming the minor premiership for our pool, we have now moved on to the top 9 of the CJ SOPER Round. The competition is going to be much harder.

First up Woodlands, winners of their pool. We started poorly, treating it like a ripper rugby game, but somehow managing to but some points on the board with tries to Connor, Bryce and Josh Rutherford. The introduction of big bad Ben Collins before halftime, started the resurrection.

Pinner’s half time speech was very inspirational and we finally found second gear. It then started to rain, and the game became forward dominated. Input from the bench of George, Stewart and Jack Maguire lifted the tempo. A late try to Bryce King off the back of scrum secured the bonus point. Three conversions from Alex Keen, who has found his kicking boots took the final score to 26 to 7. We will have to be a lot better, when we play Waikiwi this weekend!
