Midlands 60 - 5 Riverton - 7th June
It may have been a cold start to the day and the mercury not getting higher than 6 degrees throughout the day, but the game against Riverton on Club/Sponsors day was set to be a hotly contested match on paper.
After the first 20 minutes the Midlands forward pack had Riverton under all sorts of pressure dominating set price, around the ruck and some brilliant strong ball carries from Bryce King and Connor McDermott. The men had a healthy lead at the turn heading into the second half, we just had to reset and start again, and did continue to score tries after building phases and good ball security to finally take the game convincingly 60-5.
It was great to see the clubrooms full of sponsors and supporters the boys are looking forward to rolling their sleeves up this week against Blues at home and keep the ball rolling. "Have a go Midlands!"
