As the two undefeated teams line up for the third and final round of the Oceania Rugby Women’s XV Championships, history will also be made as the match marks the first ever international test to be played at the newly opened 4R Stadium in Ba.
Having already hosted the inaugural Super Rugby Pacific clash between the Fijian Drua and the ACT Brumbies earlier this year, the venue now sets the stage for what is expected to be an electrifying encounter between two of the fiercest rivals in Oceania women’s rugby.
Fijiana XV have named a strong side for the decider, with captain Alfreda Fisher leading a forward pack that includes Karalaini Naisewa, Keleni Marawa and Tiana Robanakadavu in the front row, supported by Karavaki Lutumaibau and Carletta Yee in the locks. The loose forward trio of Sulita Waisega, Fisher and Manuqa Komaitai will look to control the breakdown, while Kolora Lomani and Salanieta Kinita guide play at halfback.
Out wide, Agela Raitubu, Ivamere Rokowati and Merewarita Neivoha provide attacking strike, with Kelera Roqorua and Litiana Vueti completing a dynamic backline. The bench adds further impact, including experienced options such as Adi Keri Lawavou, Adi Salaseini Railumu and Vika Nakacia.
Manusina XV, meanwhile, have named a well-balanced lineup led by captain Utumalama Atonio, who anchors a forward pack featuring Octavia Nanai-Iafeta, Clementine Utumapu and Ana Mamea in the front row, with Ana Sio and Machiko Silila Fepuleai in the second row.
The loose forwards combination of Atonio, Michelle Curry and Nina Foasese brings both physicality and mobility, while Ana Afuie and Harmony Vatau steer the side from the halves. The backline includes Tyra Boysen-Auimatagi, Iron Talia, Drenna Falaniko and Linda Fiafia, with Taytana Pati Ah-Cheung at fullback. The bench features impact players such as Faith Nonutunu and co-captain Sui Pauaraisa, alongside debutants Celeste Salaki Utumapu and Memphis-Cass Pati Ah-Cheung.
Heading into the final round, both Fijiana XV and Manusina XV sit level at the top of the standings with one win each and maximum points, setting up a winner-takes-all encounter in Ba. Fiji currently hold a superior points differential following their 85–5 victory in Round 1, while Samoa’s 50–5 win over Tonga in Round 2 still keeps them in contention.
