The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies have today launched ‘The Stables’, a new, exciting initiative for students in Canberra.
Similar to ‘The rUCkus Crew’ that was previously in place for the club, the Stables will become the Brumbies supporters’ group for students in the area, encouraging younger fans to attend Super Rugby Pacific fixtures and enjoy the game of rugby, at discounted prices.
The Stables will feature at all our home matches, with a view to creating a more vibrant atmosphere and high-energy experience for young people at GIO Stadium.
General Manager of Business Operations at the ACT Brumbies Gavin Hunt stressed the significance of getting more young fans to come to support the club on a regular basis.
“We are delighted to be able to launch the Stables for Brumbies home matches at GIO Stadium,” Hunt said.
“It was really important for us this year to reintroduce a section for young people in Canberra at our games, as we are passionate about attracting a younger audience to rugby in our region. We anticipate the Stables area will also create added noise and atmosphere in the stadium on matchdays and provide extra support for our players.
“By involving them in the world’s best provincial rugby competition, at terrific value, we hope Stables ticket holders will become lifelong fans of not only the Brumbies, but also the sport.”
Unlike the rUCkus Crew, the Stables will not only cover just University of Canberra (UC) students, but also other organisations and young people’s groups within the region, including Australian National University (ANU). The Stables will feature with stalls at Market Days at UC on 29th January and at ANU on 12th February.
At Super Rugby Pacific matches and with Stables tickets priced at just $20, the group will have a designated area in bay 64 at GIO Stadium, complete with its own DJ booth. There will be other activations to enhance the fan experience for Stables attendees, such as gameday giveaways. Our mission is to create an environment where fans can express themselves, get loud and make a social tradition, as per the ‘The rUCkus Crew’.
The Stables will also have special access to pre-game experiences at different sites around Canberra, allowing ticket holders to socialise beforehand, with a food/beverage special offer and appearances from players. There will then be buses provided to travel to GIO Stadium for world-class rugby action. Following the conclusion of matches, Stables members will also have the opportunity to head to events at Bentspoke Brewing Co. in Braddon, with further drinks offers.
Tickets for the Stables will be available via Ticketek for individual, Super Rugby Pacific matches, in Bay 64 of GIO Stadium.
