Tasmania will play host to legendary Wallabies enforcer Matt Cockbain as part of the 2025 Gold Blooded Tour sweeping our state next month.
Running from April 10 to April 12, the Gold Blooded Tour combines Classic Wallabies with senior Rugby Australia coaching staff to deliver tailored programs in the lead-up to this year's Test season.
A 1999 World Cup winner and 63-cap Wallaby, Cockbain headlines the guest list for Tasmania and will lead junior development sessions in Launceston (Thursday April 10) and Hobart (Friday April 11) before speaking at the 2025 TRU Season Launch (Saturday April 12).
A staple in the golden era of Wallabies rugby, Cockbain started at blindside flanker in Australia's 1999 final victory over France and won every piece of silverware on offer in a gold jersey - including the Bledisloe Cup, Tri Nations Trophy, and Tom Richards Cup (British and Irish Lions).
Cockbain is also a well-credentialled coach with more than 15 years experience in top flight rugby across Australia and Japan and served on the Junior Wallabies staff during their 2024 U20 World Championship campaign.
