The 2024 season was a year of growth, success, and expansion for the Tuggeranong Vikings Juniors, with increased player participation, new initiatives, and strong on-field performances.

📈 Growth & Participation

  • 18% increase in players: 257 players competed in 248 games across five competitions, compared to 217 players in 165 games across three competitions in 2023.
  • Expanded rugby opportunities: A new focus on 7s rugby provided additional playing opportunities before and after the main winter season.
  • Girls' Rugby Development: Partnership with Brumbies and Uni Norths Owls led to an U12 Girls Barbarian side participating in the Sydney Rugby Union Development Gala.

On-Field Achievements

  • Most successful community club in finals appearances (only behind major schools Eddies, Marist, and Daramalan).
  • Summer 7s Competition: 4 teams entered, 2 U14 Boys and U14 Girls crowned champions, 1 runner-up.
  • Winter Season (ACTJRU): 8 teams reached Semi-Finals (30% increase), 5 teams reached Grand Finals (250% increase), 3 teams crowned champions (300% increase).

Looking Ahead to 2025

  • Strengthening junior-to-senior player pathways through Gen-Red and increased coaching development.
  • Enhancing community engagement with new sponsorship strategies.
