12th April - Tū Kotahi Wahine 31 - 56 Albion

This week Tū Kotahi Wahine were back in Gore, taking on Albion. The first half was a nail biter, with the scores staying very even and both teams looking very strong on attack and defence. M&Ms were up 12-10 just before half time, when Albion were awarded a penalty under the posts. Albion must have been feeling under pressure for points, as they opted to kick. This ended the first half 13-12 to Albion.

The half time talk was around M&Ms trying to get the ball wide, as Albion's forwards were, as normal, doing a lot of their work. However, Albion also must have discussed tactics and found a weak spot in M&Ms defence, managing to rack up 3 more tries in less than 10 minutes at the start of the second half.

The rest of the game was hard work for M&Ms, as they tried everything possible to clench back some of those points and Albion matching their efforts try for try. The ladies fought hard, with forwards looking great in scrums and lineouts and the backs using some great set piece and open play to find holes.

The final score was 56-31 to Albion. With Easter next weekend, the ladies have a quick turnaround this week, and will play Blues at Marist on Thursday night.
