The Tapawera Rugby Club is incredibly proud to celebrate one of our own, Sarah Jones, on her selection for the 2025 Matatū Super Rugby Aupiki squad. From her early days on the local rugby fields to this incredible milestone, Sarah’s journey is an inspiration to the entire community.
Sarah grew up in Tapawera and attended Tapawera Area School, where she first discovered her passion for rugby. It was on these local grounds that she developed her skills, determination, and resilience, which have now earned her a place on one of New Zealand’s top women’s rugby teams.
Her journey from grassroots rugby to the professional stage is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and the strong community support she received throughout her development. Sarah's selection for Matatū not only highlights her talent but also reflects the values instilled in her during her time at Tapawera Area School and within the Tapawera Rugby Club.
