The Western Force is rapt to confirm the signing of Wanneroo scrum-half Ai Dickson alongside the re-signing of her sister Nami Dickson for the 2026 Swyftx Super Rugby Women’s season.

Teenage scrum-half Ai joins the Force after coming through the RugbyWA women’s academy pathway system.

The 19-year-old previously spent time at Cottesloe, before switching to Wanneroo where she’s played in back-to-back Fortescue Premier Grade premiership-winning teams.

The young scrum-half, who spent time training with the Force last year, impressed across three games in last year’s North vs South Women’s Series where she helped North lift the inaugural Pomare Shield.

Nami, who is 18 months Ai’s senior, played three games in her maiden Super W season last year, debuting in Round 4 against Fijian Drua.

In order to gain more gametime, Nami recently played with SG Valley in the Hong Kong Women’s Rugby Premiership, where she learned off former Wallaroo Grace Hamilton.

The 21-year-old back-rower had previously been part of the Force’s 2024 Japan Tour, before earning her maiden Force contract. Like Ai, Nami has been part of Wanneroo’s past two Women’s premiership and come through the RugbyWA pathway.

Force Super W head coach Dylan Parsons said: “Ai is one of the younger cygnets who has graduated through RugbyWA’s academy pathways and developed through their good work.

“She’s had training experiences with us all of last year. She’s improved a lot as she has continued to train with our Kaizen Training Group.

“She’s worked really hard to develop her craft as a nine and has benefitted from learning off Sammy Wood who is a great role model.

“She learned from a good pathway at Wanneroo and has had some success there as well, which has given her confidence to jump into our stuff. She’s another local which is great to see. She's really earned her contract."

On Nami's re-signing, Parsons said: “She’s been developing with us for another 12 months. She made some big steps last year, earning her Super W debut in her first contract year.

“She’s worked on other parts of her game that we’ve asked her too. Part of that is growing as a person. She’s done that by  moving over to Hong Kong and playing in the back-end of the HKRU season.

“She’s come back in good game-shape. She organised that herself and actively wanted to take more control of her development, which showed her determined attitude in the absence of a long Super W season.

“We’re excited about her and thrilled to have her back among the group for 2026.”

The re-signings take the Force’s 2026 Super W squad to 18 members. The Force’s first game of the 2026 Super W season is Saturday 13 June away to Fijian Drua.
