WELCOME TO TAIERI RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB The Taieri Rugby Football Club, situated in Mosgiel on the Taieri plains at Peter Johnston Park, is a community-oriented organization. Our facilities include five playing fields, extensive training grounds, and recently renovated clubrooms, ensuring we can accommodate all players, members, supporters, and families.
Known affectionately as "The Eels," our club fields five senior teams, including Premier 1, Premier Development, Senior, Premier Colts, and Championship Colts. Our track record speaks for itself, as The Eels frequently find themselves in semi-finals, and our Premier 1 team has reached the Grand Finals nine times in the last 12 years, clinching the championship on five occasions. We take immense pride in nurturing our Colts players, watching them advance to the Premier ranks.
Our Junior teams cover age groups from Under 5 to Under 13, with numerous teams competing in various grades. Since 1962, our Junior club has been the proud host of the renowned "Taieri 7’s" tournament, a well-respected event within rugby circles across the South Island.
Additionally, our clubrooms are available for rent, making them the perfect venue for events such as weddings, birthdays, and other private functions.
