Tū Kotahi Wahine 109 - 7 - Lower Valley Mataura

This week Tū Kotahi Wahine took a trip to Mataura to play the newest addition to the competition - Lower Mataura Valley. It's great to see another team entering the competition, made entirely out of new players!

Mataura fought hard, but with a few strong ball carries and missed tackles, the score was 102 - 0 to M&Ms at half time. In an attempt to even the playing field, two of M&Ms strong ball carriers switched teams, which resulted in much better rugby from both sides. After 10 minutes of the second half, a Mataura player was injured and the game was called to an end. Those ten minutes saw a try and conversion to both sides, making the final score 109 - 7. Tū Kotahi Wahine had a bye over duck shooting weekend and will get into the second round of the competition this week.
