Counties Manukau Rugby has confirmed the renewal of its partnership with South Auckland Motors, extending the long-standing relationship between the two organisations for a further two years.

Both South Auckland Motors and Counties Manukau Rugby have been part of the South Auckland community since the mid-1950s, growing alongside the region and contributing to its development for seven decades. This shared history forms a strong foundation for a partnership centred on community, connection, and support.

Counties Manukau Rugby Head of Commercial, Andrew Philips, says the renewed partnership reinforces the strong alignment of values between the two organisations and one we are extremely proud of.

“South Auckland Motors is a trusted and respected business throughout the region that has been supporting our community for generations. Their continued partnership plays an important role in helping us provide opportunities for our rugby community across the region. We are grateful for their ongoing support and are proud to continue working alongside them,” says Philips.

South Auckland Motors Principal Dealer, Michael Tappenden says the company is pleased to continue its support of Counties Manukau Rugby:

“Our continued loyalty to Counties Manukau Rugby Union comes from having decades of roots in the same community,” says Tappenden.

“Our business was founded more than 70 years ago at the same time as the Union, and it’s special to see both of our organisations continuing to grow and thrive here in the province.

“Being part of the CMRFU family - alongside players, supporters, and fellow sponsors -brings real value to our business, and we’re proud to keep backing a Union that is such important part of our community.”

The renewed agreement will see South Auckland Motors continue its support across Counties Manukau Rugby’s high-performance and community programmes, helping to grow the game and create positive experiences both on and off the field.

Counties Manukau Rugby extends its thanks to South Auckland Motors for their lasting commitment and looks forward to building on the partnership over the next two years.
