RUPA is excited to have appointed Maligi “Mils” Finau as the Western Force Player Development Manager, supporting players to thrive both on and off the field through a strong belief that wellbeing is a key enabler of performance.
Mils joins the Western Force from the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), where he was part of the AIS Sport Wellbeing and Engagement team. During his time at the AIS, Mils delivered education, career, personal development and transition programs designed to support elite athletes’ holistic development.
Passionate about the athlete voice, Mils is committed to building meaningful relationships and fostering a strong sense of belonging. He believes in supporting the holistic development of players from entry into rugby, throughout their careers, and beyond the game.
Mils has also delivered sport and wellbeing programs supporting the settlement, transition and social connection of migrant and refugee communities in Australia. He has worked within the vocational education sector at the Canberra Institute of Technology, contributing to the development of the Diploma of Sport.
Mils holds a Bachelor of Sports Management and a Bachelor of Sports Coaching and Exercise Science from the University of Canberra.
