RugbyWA is proud to announce the extension of its valued partnership with AFGRI Equipment Australia. As part of the renewed agreement, the leading machinery provider will continue its strong support of regional rugby in Western Australia as the Naming Rights Partner for the 2026 AFGRI Albany 7’s.

This ongoing partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting regional communities and growing grassroots rugby across Western Australia.

Building on the success of previous years, the AFGRI Albany 7’s remains a cornerstone event in RugbyWA’s West Coast 7’s Series, bringing together junior teams from across metropolitan and regional Western Australia. The tournament continues to showcase the strength and growth of community rugby, following a record-breaking 2025 event.

The 2025 tournament saw thousands of rugby fans descend on Albany, with more than 1,000 junior participants aged from Under 8s through to Under 15s taking to the field – marking the largest turnout in the event’s history. A total of 77 teams competed across the weekend, supported by a strong network of coaches, officials, volunteers, and families, reinforcing the event’s reputation as a premier junior rugby festival.

RugbyWA CEO Simon Taylor said: "The AFGRI Albany 7’s has established itself as one of the most important junior rugby events in Western Australia.

“Seeing over 1,000 young players take part last year highlights the strength of the game at a grassroots level, particularly in regional communities.

“Our partnership with AFGRI allows us to continue delivering high-quality experiences for players and families, while also strengthening rugby’s presence in the Great Southern region"

AFGRI Equipment Australia CEO Wessel Oosthuizen said: "The AFGRI Albany 7's is a fantastic event that brings young players, families and communities together while showcasing the strength of regional Western Australia."

"We're proud to continue our partnership with RugbyWA and support an event that creates lasting benefits for the Great Southern region. With Albany's Bicentenary celebrations taking place in 2026, this year's AFGRI Albany 7's will be even more special."

The 2026 event will take on added significance as part of the City of Albany's 2026 Bicentenary celebrations, marking 200 years since the establishment of Western Australia’s first European settlement.  The celebrations will showcase the rich history of Menang Noongar Boodja and promote reconciliation through cultural engagement, community connection and the sharing of stories that have shaped Albany across generations.

To celebrate the milestone, RugbyWA, in collaboration with AFGRI and the City of Albany, will release a limited-edition Rugby 7’s training tee.

The exclusive jersey will be available to players, coaches, and members of the public, with the option to customise it with your surname and club initials. Order your exclusive jersey here.
