The two local sides in the Premier Women’s competition will square-off in a fascinating clash at Mountfort Park on Saturday when Manurewa hosts Patumahoe.

Manurewa have won three from three to hold second place on the table while competition newcomers Patumahoe have won two of three games and are third.

The Counties Sports Hub Shield, held by Manurewa since 2023, will be up for grabs for the winning side.

Patumahoe coach Anthony Campbell is excited to be taking on a side that has a proven winning culture and with a top notch record in the competition over a long period of time.

“Looking forward to facing Manurewa for the first time,” Campbell said.

“We know they’re a physical side and have plenty of experience to rely on.

“They’ve been a powerhouse of women’s rugby in Counties for a long time, so we’re excited to test ourselves against them.”

Weymouth will take their unbeaten record in the Women’s Development grade into a home clash against University at Laurie Gibbons Reserve.

Pukekohe are on the road against MK Rangers at Riverhead while Papakura travels to Waitemata.
