Midlands 34 - 24 Waikiwi
On a warm summer’s evening, on a ground in Invercargill(Rugby Park). Two very even teams Waikiwi and Midlands battled out the game of the round. The first 20 minutes was all Waikiwi. They certainly had the better half. We came back with two late tries. 21 to 12 at halftime to Waikiwi.
The second half started with Midlands scoring quickly and from there, we defended our line never letting them in. Tries to Luke McMaster, Jack Symon (intercept) and Josh Rutherford late in the half gave us the win. 34 to 24 to Midlands. 196 tackles were made with Josh Gill making 27 (player of the day). In the next round, when we meet again, we will need to be at the top of our game!
