Since 2022, Newlands RFC has provided fee-free rugby for our Y0/1 players, a program we introduced to support families during the financial uncertainty caused by COVID-19. Being able to offer this has been due to the generous support of local businesses and our own club fundraising efforts.
As we look forward to the 2025 season we are excited to extend this fee-free opportunity to all players.
Making sports free for children promotes equality by providing access to all, regardless of socio-economic background. It improves physical health, mental well-being, and social skills, while also fostering academic success and confidence. Additionally, they strengthen community bonds, and equip kids with valuable life skills like teamwork and leadership.
