Empire Rugby is proud to celebrate a historic weekend for the union, as both Old Blue and Syracuse Chargers captured USA Rugby Club National Championships in their respective divisions.
Old Blue secured the USA Rugby Men’s D1 National Championship with a 48-28 victory over Seattle Rugby Club in the national final. Old Blue advanced to the championship match after an impressive 37-7 semifinal win over the Austin Blacks, showcasing the club’s physicality, pace and attacking depth throughout the postseason.
Joining them at the top of the national stage were the Syracuse Chargers, who captured the USA Rugby Men’s D3 National Championship in dramatic fashion with a 46-44 comeback victory over Old Red Eye Rugby Club in the final. Syracuse reached the championship match after a dominant 58-19 semifinal win over Life West, capping off an outstanding postseason run for the club.
The dual championships represent a significant achievement for Empire Rugby and showcase the strength and depth of club rugby across the union. Empire clubs continue to demonstrate the competitiveness, culture and commitment that define rugby throughout the region.
