Counties Manukau Sevens Squads Named

Counties Manukau Rugby has named the men’s and women’ sevens teams for the Northern Region Sevens to be held in Thames on Saturday.

The men’s team features a core of the Karaka side that won the McNamara Cup, including midfielder Rodney Tongotea and the impressive Tomasi Setitaia.

Pukekohe’s Irirangi Taniere and Jerry Driu were McNamara Cup regulars while experienced campaigners David Kama and Nua Soti are also included.

The men are coached by Jeremy Clark and Kaino Kaino and managed by Dee Clark.

The women’s team features long-time Heat star Hazel Tubic as well as large contingent of Heat players that played in the Farah Palmer Cup this season.

The exciting Sariyah Patai will be one to watch. Tubic is the coach of the side with Ti Tauasosi managing.

Counties Manukau has entered teams in the Boys U18 and Girls U18 grades as well.
