Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union (CMRFU) is proud to celebrate our Community Rugby Champion, Ti Tauasosi, who recently travelled to Sydney to participate in the Pacific Sport Business Forum, hosted by ChildFund Rugby.
Held at the UK Consulate, the forum gathered global sporting organisations and business leaders to explore the future of sustainable sports programming across the Pacific. The discussions focused on expanding access, strengthening local capability, and developing long-term funding models to ensure sport continues to thrive in our Pacific communities.
A highlight of the event was a Q&A session featuring Ti, where she shared her firsthand insights from competing in the Rugby World Cup. She spoke passionately about the skyrocketing demand for women’s sport following the tournament and the critical need for meaningful pathways for female athletes.
The forum also offered a unique opportunity to connect with corporate leaders, providing a deeper understanding of what organisations look for in a partnership and how sponsorship can provide a genuine return on investment.
“I was incredibly grateful for the invitation to be part of such an impactful event,” said Tauasosi. “It allowed me to connect with organisations outside of the traditional sports sector that I otherwise wouldn’t have met. Bringing accessible sports programs to the Pacific is a cause close to my heart, and I was proud to represent both CMRFU and Samoa on this stage.”
As a driving force for female rugby growth within Counties Manukau, Ti’s leadership continues to bridge the gap between local grassroots and international advocacy. Having represented the Counties Energy Heat and Manusina (Samoa) at the World Cup, her presence in Sydney reflects CMRFU’s commitment to making rugby inclusive and sustainable for everyone.
CMRFU congratulates Ti on representing our Union and the wider Pacific sporting community on such an important platform.
