Coming off a highly impactful year for women’s rugby in 2025, the Rugby World Cup 2029 cycle is now officially underway with exciting new benchmarks for the Women’s Eagles program.
USA Eagles supporter Brian Robinson and his family today announced a contribution to supplement the USA Women’s Eagles XVs match bonus structure for the entirety of 2026. A first of its kind contribution, driven by the XV Foundation.
USA Rugby CEO, Bill Goren said on the bonus structure, “First and foremost, thank you Brian Robinson, his family and the XV Foundation for their direct support of the USA Women’s Eagles program and players. We’re proud to have partners in the building structure of our national teams, who not only contribute to foundational growth, but join us in acknowledging match performance and player dedication.”
The match day bonus structure secures additional stipends for the USA Women’s Eagles, allocated to players named to each of the 10-12 test matches projected for 2026. With Rugby World Cup 2029 and 2033 set to be the most influential tournaments to date, particularly 2033 here on US soil, the multi-year goal for player financial security is critical to ensure Women’s Eagles players have the ability to focus more exclusively on performance as professional athletes. Together with other initiatives driven by USA Rugby High Performance, the Robinson family and XV Foundation support is a valuable injection towards that goal.
Brian Robinson said on the contribution, “Rugby has been a constant thread in my life - from ten years on the pitch, to 15 years coaching at all levels, to now watching my son compete for a spot on the USA U20s. This sport has given me lifelong friendships, discipline, and purpose, and I’ve always believed in giving back to the community that gave me so much. I’m honored to have the opportunity to support the USA Women's Rugby’s mission to grow the game and provide stability for our Women's Eagles."
The USA Women’s Eagles 2026 season will begin with the Pacific Four Series this spring, followed by a two-match series in South Africa in early July and fall tour at home for the WXV Global Series. All match details are soon to be announced as final dates and locations await confirmation.
