Australia U16s side named to face NSW Waratahs U17s

The Australia U16s side has been confirmed for Thursday's clash with the NSW Waratahs U17s at Concord Oval.

The match will be shown live on Rugby.com.au and will highlight some of the best talent in the country.

NSW Waratahs backrower Justice Taumoepeau captains the side amongst a large contingency of NSW players after they took out the U16s Super Rugby title.

He is joined by props Nicholas Kotarac and Hasani Bloomfield, with Reds hooker Adrian De Klerk completing the front row.

Queensland second-rower Jack Calleja and Waratah Tahj Smith make up the locks with Reds captain Agapetos Lote-Felo, Aston Weird and Taumoepeau rounding out the forward pack.

Standout Waratahs playmaker Talen Risati will start at flyhalf, with Gold Coast and Reds scrumhalf Alfie Bowman joining him.

Western Force centre Chase Bunce has been rewarded for a strong season with a start in the midfield.

He will start at inside centre, with Reds and Wests star Taione Taka partnering him at outside centre.

Flyer Darcy Feltham adds explosive pace on the wing, with Hemi Rakuita and Jarrdy King completing the backline.

The extended bench includes a host of exciting talent from across the country, with Rebels backrower Halaliku Lauhingoa selected after a brilliant season in Victoria.

Brumbies playmaker Aidan Wunsch and Force second rower Bareek Kleine-Deters Ausage have also been named.

There are five Waratahs on the bench, including back trio Harry Whitaker, Creighton Meafou and Ashton Large.
