The 2026-26 SVNS World Series is here as the Australian Sevens teams advance to both Finals in the opening event in Dubai.
The Women's side entered as defending champions; however, they went down to New Zealand in the Final in their quest for six straight titles.

Returning star Madison Ashby co-captained the side, joined by Kaitlan Shave, with the pair missing last season due to injuries.
As for the Men, they have three debutants, including former NSW Waratahs outside back Harry Wilson. Liam Barry's team has been forced into one change since last week's team naming, with Hadley Tonga replacing Ben Dowling (quad).
They fell to a similar fate, going down to their New Zealand counterparts in the decider after a gutsy win over France in the semi-finals.
Australia has started their Dubai title defence with a 31-7 win over Japan.
It was the co-captains who set the tempo with Bella Nasser's pilfer penalty providing the turnover for Teagan Levi to strike, followed by Madison Ashby setting up Faith Nathan for a 12-7 lead.
Maddison Levi got in on the action in the second half with a double as the Aussies fended off some quality fightback from Japan.
Nasser sealed the win with three minutes left, running 90 metres for a 14-point swing after the Japanese incredibly dropped the ball over the line untouched 30 seconds earlier.
Australia have impressed with a 14-7 win over last year's runner-ups, Spain.
It was a wild contest that saw the Aussies respond to an early Spanish try via returning star Dietrich Roache and young gun Wallace Charlie.
There were three disallowed tries in the second half, with Maurice Longbottom pulling off an excellent try-saver, while a pair of forward passes denied five points for the Australians.
Rookie Ethan McFarland proved the hero, coming up with the clutch ankle tap to stop a last-minute Spain attack to level the scores and win the game.
Australia have continued their unbeaten start with a 24-17 win over Canada.
Maddison Levi continued their hot start with a first half double as the Aussies built an early lead.
Canada responded before half-time but tries to Faith Nathan and Heidi Dennis put the game out of reach despite two late scores to the Canadians.
Australia has nearly pulled off an epic comeback, going down 21-17 to New Zealand.
It was all New Zealand as Brady Rush’s opener set the tempo for a dominant first half, taking a 21-0 lead.
But the Aussies dug deep and launched a comeback, with Henry Hutchison, Dietrich Roache and Ben Dalton crossing to set up a grandstand finish.
Dalton had a chance to win it after the siren, with only a remarkable try-saving tackle stopping the try and securing the win to the Kiwis.
Australia have piled on the points to take a 55-0 victory over GB.
It's their largest win over the Brits In Dubai, with Tia Hinds starting off the rout in the opening ten seconds.
There were seven different try-scorers, with Kaitlin Shave capping off her return from injury with a double alongside Teagan Levi.
Australia are into the semi-finals in both the Men's and Women's competition thanks to a 26-17 win over Great Britain.
Needing victory to secure their place, the Aussies came out firing with the first three tries of the match via Wallace Charlie, Jayden Blake and Dietrich Roache.
GB mounted a comeback in the second half, however, James McGregor's five pointer with two minutes to go shut down any thoughts of defeat.
Australia are into another Dubai Final, taking down Fiji 31-10.
The Levis again got the Aussies off to the perfect start, with Teagan Levi setting up Maddison.
Bienne Terita extended the lead as Fiji pressed the defending Dubai champions, only for Levi’s second to give Australia some much-needed breathing room.
Excellent defence from Teagan sealed the win, setting up Tia Hinds to go herself, before Kaitlin Shave sealed the win and another trans-Tasman Final with a minute left.
Debutant Will Cartwright has powered Australia into the Dubai Final as Australia fought their way past France 14-0.
It was a defensive slog as both teams produced immaculate defence to keep the game scoreless at the break.
But the injection of the Queenslander was the difference, breaking the game open with a step and burst for the five-pointer.
Cartwright crossed for his second to seal the win with 90 seconds to go, with Australia facing New Zealand after they scored after the siren to beat Fiji.
New Zealand have ended Australia's winning run in Dubai, claiming the Dubai title 29-14.
Jorja Miller helped the Kiwis to an unassailable lead, scoring twice as they suffocated the Aussies.
Heidi Dennis' double was in vain as the Kiwis were ruthless on the counterattack.
New Zealand have completed the sweep, taking down a valiant Australian side 26-22.
Australia struck first but the Kiwis hit straight back and scored three unanswered tries.
Debutant Harry Wilson scored twice, but it wasn't enough for the victory as the All Black Sevens held on for the win.
