Reds 32-31: Carter Gordon, welcome to Reds folklaw.
The Reds escape with a remarkable win as Gordon beats his opposite man close to the line, diving over to win the match for the visitors.
Brumbies 31-27: WHAT JUST HAPPENED
Jock Campbell runs 50 metres from basically his own in-goal and gets to the fullback, kicking for Treyvon Pritchard.
It takes an excellent scramble from Andy Muirhead to stop him, with Pritchard throwing it back and the Brumbies knocking it on, leading to a five-metre scrum.
It comes after a clear knock-on is missed in the build-up that should've been a Brumbies free kick for accidental offisde.
The Reds win the scrum penalty and they will pack another one down.
Brumbies 31-27: Filipo Daugunu goes close to the line and somehow finds his way over the line.
The winger expertly keeps his knees up and rolls off a defender and over the line.
Brumbies 31-20: The Reds are hunting to stay in this match but time is the enemy.
They again find themselves in the 22 unable to break through their scramble defence, quickly packing a scrum after a Tane Edmed error.
Brumbies 31-20: The super sub delivers as Luke Reimer dives over for what could be the game-sealer.
A pin-point kick hits Luke Reimer on the chest and while he is dragged down, he gets the ball a few phases later for the five-pointer
Brumbies 24-20: The Brumbies and Reds are trading ruck steals at the moment.
Blake Schoupp and Luke Reimer for the hosts, Fraser McReight for the visitors as the two teams keep the pressure on.
Brumbies 24-20: The Brumbies' scramble defence continues to be excellent as they force another Reds turnover.
Seru Uru is the man bundled into touch, with several Brumbies there to take him out.
Brumbies 24-20: The Brumbies are back in front and it's Andy Muirhead with the clutch try.
Huge moment as they turn down an easy three, instead backing themselves and the fullback delivers.
Reds 20-19: Ryan Lonergan creates something out of nothing to put the Brunbies inside the five.
The scrumhalf snipes and beats several to race away, eventually leading to a penalty and a tap play.
Reds 20-19: The Queensland Reds are hot on the attack as they work their way inside the five metre line.
Initial calls of a penalty are waived off after a knock-on just before the infringement negates it.
Treyvon Pritchard then nearly scores in the corner but is dragged down a metre out into touch.
Reds 20-19: Declan Meredith's smart chip and chase gets the Brumbies rolling and they head inside the 22.
But again, the Reds deliver when it's needed, leading to the scrum 10 metres out.
Reds 20-19: Ryan Lonergan makes up some serious ground to stop Kalani Thomas, who finds himself on the wing following a HIA to Josh Flook.
Lonergan comes from no where to stop an excellent grubber from Carter Gargon.
Reds 20-19: Charlie Cale is feeling himself and goes for an ambitious chip and chase that goes out on the full.
The number eight redeems himself after winning the resulting lineout, but the hosts drop the ball
Reds 20-19: The Reds head into half-time with the lead after another Louis Werchon penalty goal.
David Feliuai gets pinged for killing the ruck, allowing the scrumhalf to nail the three-pointer.
Brumbies 19-17: The Brumbies magic man does it again as Charlie Cale gets his seconds.
The hosts inch their way to the line, with Cale stopping the chalk and getting low enough to the line
Reds 17-12: Suddenly, the Brumbies are chasing the game as they apply pressure in their half.
They will get a chance to scrum it down just outside the 22.
Reds 17-12: The Reds show some great hands as they work it nicely to put Josh Flook over.
Quick hands find Fraser McReight and Harry Wilson, working back inside for Jock Campbell to draw the fullback for Flook to dive over.
Brumbies 12-10: The Brumbies work their way back inside the 22 but a great shot from Josh Nasser dislodges the ball.
It settles this game after a wild start from both teams.
Brumbies 12-10: Louis Werchon takes an easy three points and the lead is just two.
Very un-Reds play, but given the weather that has hit Canberra, the right move.
Brumbies 12-7: Treyvon Pritchard is in way earlier than expected as Lachie Anderson comes off.
Anderson seems to have an arm injury, a tough blow after his great try, with the Reds launching inside the 22 to give him an early chance.
Brumbies 12-7: Frantic stuff to start the game as Declan Meredith is denied a try.
Meredith latches onto a spilled turnover from Fraser McReight and races away to dot it down.
But the TMO spots a slight touch from Meredith and it's a double knock on, with the Reds surviving after winning the scrum penalty.
Brumbies 12-7: Great hands from the Wallabies skipper, Harry Wilson, set up winger Lachlan Anderson for their opening try.
He deceives the defence thinking it was going to Fraser McReight and finds Anderson, who drives over the line.
Brumbies 12-0: Charlie Cale's red-hot start to the season continues as the wingers combine to put the number eight into space.
Kye Oates makes a great burst, with Hudson Creighton backing him up the next phase to draw the fullback for Cale to dive over.
Brumbies 7-0: The hosts are showing little signs that it was raining so heavily earlier.
They pass through the hands fast for Kadin Pritchard, who just can't find his support man as the ball hits the deck ten metres out.
Brumbies 7-0: Perfect start for the ACT Brumbies as Lachie Shaw dives over for the opener.
The Reds drop the restart, and the Brumbies win the scrum penalty, with Shaw working over the line after the five-metre maul is brought down.
Alright, it took some time but we're finally here at kick-off time!
James Slipper officially ties the record for most Super Rugby caps as the Brumbies prepare to kick off.
Tries: Shaw, Cale 2, Muirhead, Reimer
Cons: Lonergan 3/5
Tries: Anderson, Flook, Daugunu, Gordon
Cons: Werchon 4/4
Pens: Werchon 2/2
Great scenes as both teams run onto the field to start their warm-uos.
9:00 pm (AEDT) is the confirmed kick-off time, with the weather clearing the stadium (hopefully for good!)
At this stage, warm-ups are scheduled for 8:32 pm, with kick-off at 9:00 pm.
Fingers and toes crossed.
Putting this in as the ultimate jinx.
If the bad weather continues and this game doesn't get underway, the tournament rules state that the two teams will receive two points each.
As soon as we look like getting on, the bad weather returns.
Stan coverage shows another big batch of lightning in the foreground, which would restart the 30-minute period that must be free of lightning within a 10km radius.
9:00 pm is now the time floated on the pre-game coverage.
Promising signs as the lighting and weather look to be clearing the ground.
If all things go as planned, the teams will head on the park at 8:13 pm for warm-ups, with kick-off still set for 8:40 pm.
Both teams are keen to play no matter how long it takes, with footage appearing to show the coin toss taking place.
Alright, so now we have a different kick-off with the Stan coverage suggesting it's more likely an 8:40 pm kick-off.
Watch this space, with Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham in deep discussions with the match manager.
Les Kiss jokes he'd play the game at 1am.
Watch this space cause this is moving rapidly.
We have an announced kick-off time of 8:22 pm AEDT per Super Rugby's social media (which has been since deleted)
Both teams will be given sufficient time to warm-up before getting the game underway.
Further updates from GIO Stadium are saying 7:50 pm is the pencilled-in warm-up time for the two sides.
Generally, both teams need at least 15-20 min to go through their paces, with James Slipper one of several getting a quick rest in as we wait for confirmation.
Welcome to Rugby.com.au's coverage of the ACT Brumbies-Queensland Reds, and boy, do we already have drama.
The heavens have opened up in Canberra and we have lightning in the nation's capital, pushing the kick-off back.
This will push the kick-off back until after 7:45 pm AEDT, maybe even longer, as the Stan footage captures lightning cracking the stadium.
Stay tuned.
