2026 Fortescue Women's Premier Grade Round 5 Recap

Round 5 of the Women’s Fortescue competition saw two dominant performances, with Wanneroo and Wests Scarborough both recording impressive victories to strengthen their positions heading into a blockbuster clash this weekend.

Wanneroo produced a commanding display to defeat Southern Lions 62-0. The home side ran in 10 tries, with Kifayatullah and Ah-Sam both scoring doubles. Mainwaring, Banza, Te Tana, Petia, Morris-Viti and Talemaira also crossed the line in a comprehensive team performance. Kifayatullah capped off an outstanding afternoon by converting six tries as Wanneroo kept Southern Lions scoreless.

Wests Scarborough responded with an equally impressive attacking performance, defeating Perth Bayswater 46-17. Derera and Knight each scored two tries, while Hiini, Lafu, Kovacs and MacAskill also crossed as Wests piled on eight tries. Heta added three conversions to round out the scoring. Perth Bayswater showed plenty of fight, with Muavou scoring a double and Burzawa also crossing the line. Munro added the conversion, but the visitors proved too strong across the full 80 minutes.

With both sides coming off convincing wins, attention now turns to a top-of-the-table showdown between Wests Scarborough and Wanneroo this weekend. The match will be streamed live on Stan Sport, while all other fixtures can be viewed on Rugby Xplorer.
