Taabinga State School has been crowned the South Burnett Primary 7s carnival champions after a thrilling day of regional junior rugby 7s action.
Six teams converged on Kingaroy on Wednesday, 19 August, battling it out for regional supremacy in the second year of the annual tournament.
The tournament came down to the wire, with Taabinga State School only just edging out Kingaroy State School on points differential to claim the title for 2026. We would like to praise the spirit the tournament was played in and the level of athleticism on display.
Congratulations to all of the competing teams. It's always good to see so many players taking the opportunity to try our great game. Being the second year of the Primary 7s program, the event highlighted the growing popularity of rugby 7s in the region, providing local primary school students with a fantastic opportunity to showcase their skills, speed, and sportsmanship.
